Program Director

Location: Oakland Park, FL

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Program Director for ARTS Broward is an exempt position responsible for directing and managing all activities of the ARTS Residential Treatment Program.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and set quality standards for all ARTS staff, Mental Health Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Program Therapists, Clinical Support Coordinators, Independent Contractors, and master’s level Interns.
  • Supervise the activities of all staff in the delivery of services to ARTS residents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of ARTS residents through continuous oversight and support
  • Manage and coordinate referrals, waitlist, and length of stay of residents, ensuring appropriate discharge planning by the interdisciplinary team.
  • Assist with facilitating psychosocial rehabilitation groups and clinical services to ARTS residents as needed.
  • Communicate and coordinate with vendors providing services to the facility.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing patterns to avoid lapses in services and to limit utilization of staffing agencies.
  • Monitor and manage all ARTS expenses.
  • Plan and establish realistic program goals and objectives for all areas of the ARTS program while monitoring required employee training.
  • Perform chart reviews and review medication administration records monthly.
  • Identify primary community partners and establish collaborative working relationships.
  • Attend community meetings and represent the agency in a professional manner.
  • Develop complete knowledge of the Broward Behavioral Health Coalition (BBHC) contract and all its components. Maintain a consistent, cooperative, and successful relationship with BBHC representatives.
  • Oversee accurate and timely completion of all internal reports.
  • Participate in the quarterly pharmacy and residential directors’ meetings.
  • Oversee implementation, development, and adjustment as needed of all ARTS policies and procedures to maintain CARF standards.
  • Coordinate and carry out all safety inspections, drills, and reports for the facility
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Must have a Master of Arts or Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling or Clinical Social Work, and possess comparative Florida licensure under Chapter 491 as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • Must have two (2) years of supervisory experience working with adults living with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance abuse issues within a residential program
  • Experience in areas of program planning, evaluation, budget development, and management (preferably related to behavioral health) required
  • Knowledge of human development, including the process of aging.
  • Knowledge of social and emotional problems of adults with forensic involvement.
  • Working knowledge of community organizations and resources.
  • Knowledge of emergency medical procedures, CPR, and basic health needs.
  • General understanding of mental health practices and a working knowledge of the DSM-5.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Electronic Medical Records.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Must be available on call (24/7) to handle a crisis, either in person or by phone, depending on the nature of the crisis.
  • Ability to work overtime when required to complete all necessary job tasks.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry supplies, files, etc., up to 25 lbs. and assist in lifting clients when needed.
  • Endure short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with proof of auto insurance coverage
