Domestic Violence Liaison

Location: St Petersburg, FL

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Domestic Violence Liaison is a non-exempt position responsible for serving as the agency’s subject matter expert on domestic violence, providing training and technical assistance to programs. The position will also serve as the point of contact for domestic violence incidents within key programs.

  • Collaborate with local domestic violence service provider agencies to liaise between organizations.
  • Conduct initiative awareness events throughout the Agency to encourage participation of staff.
  • Develop a comprehensive Workplace Violence Policy within the key Agency Programs, such as Refugee and Child Welfare.
  • Serve as the point of contact for domestic violence incidents in key programs such as refugee and child welfare programs.
  • Create and distribute surveys and collateral materials to be used by staff, clients, and partner agencies.
  • Assess the policies, procedures, and practices of key programs to ensure survivors of domestic violence receive services in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Conduct focus groups with clients from key Programs to assess their knowledge and understanding of domestic violence and healthy relationships.
  • Create a strategic plan, including short and long-term Agency goals, to address domestic violence within key programs.
  • Conduct trainings for staff employed in key Programs on domestic violence screening, resources, and considerations for safety.
  • Submit periodic reports on the grant deliverables and activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines, or an associate’s degree in relevant disciplines combined with two (2) years’ experience, or a combination of education, work, and life experience.
  • Knowledge of community organization and resources.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Cross-cultural experience or cultural diversity training required.
  • Previous experience working with refugees strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work under stressful client situations, exposure to clients' trauma.
  • Must lift and/or carry office supplies, files, household goods, etc., up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be flexible to work overtime and in the field.
  • As a requirement of this position, you may be required to use your personal car to transport clients. Must have a valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
