Program Director - Holocaust Survivors

Location: Clearwater, FL

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Program Director is an exempt position responsible for the daily activities of the Holocaust Survivor Program. The Program Director manages the annual budget and allocation of resources, staff, and relationships with homecare provider agencies and conducts community outreach activities within the community.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Holocaust Survivor Case Manager, Case Management Coordinator, and Case Management Team Lead.
  • Supervise related Holocaust Survivor support programs, services, and socialization activities
  • Manage the hiring process of program staff
  • Establish employee performance expectations and goals for direct reports
  • Provide leadership, coaching, development, and support for program staff

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the Holocaust Survivor Program, ensuring compliance with funders’ rules and regulations and the attainment of program goals and deliverables
  • Manage the annual budget and allocation of resources for emergency support and homecare to meet clients’ needs and coordinate with grant accountant(s) to ensure proper reporting and timely billing and reimbursements
  • Communicate with multiple funders
  • Ensure proper eligibility documentation and maintenance of clients’ records
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the homecare agencies to provide services to Holocaust clients, including training on trauma-informed care principles
  • Collaborate with key personnel from GCJFCS and JFCS of Suncoast for any jointly funded projects for survivors
  • Facilitate the Holocaust Advisory Committee’s meetings, work with volunteers and case management staff as required by the Claims Conference to authorize supportive funding
  • Coordinate with Finance and Senior Director to streamline processes around billing and funder reporting requirements
  • Conduct community outreach activities to provide information on survivor services, work with GCJFCS Marketing Department and outside media to provide a coordinated message
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling or related field or a combination of education and years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of five (5)years of work experience in human services, including a minimum of three (3) years working with Holocaust survivors or the elderly
  • Must have supervisory experience and the ability to demonstrate professionalism, courteousness, and efficiency with clients and employees.
  • Knowledge of the Holocaust and an understanding of Holocaust survivors, their unique needs, and the related social-emotional concerns of Holocaust survivors and the aging population in general
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues pertinent to the Jewish community
  • Excellent written and oral communication and knowledge of grant management functions
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Must be proficient with working with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint) database systems
  • Ability to work under stressful situations
  • Ability to lift and/or carry office supplies, files, household goods, etc., up to 25 lbs
  • Must have a valid driver's license with auto insurance coverage. Use of personal vehicle to transport clients as needed.
