Location: Safety Harbor, FL

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Cook is a non-exempt position responsible for preparing meals for clients at the Adult Residential Treatment and Stabilization Program (ARTS) in accordance with health and dietary requirements.

  • Review daily posted menus and prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner
  • Prepare meals according to modified diets and controlled portion sizes
  • Serves clients meals in accordance with their diets in a neat and attractive manner
  • Prepare meals for special functions or holidays
  • Operate equipment such as stove, grill, conventional oven, microwave, food processor and meat slicer in a safe manner
  • With the approval of the Food Service Coordinator, record all menu changes
  • Ensure concise and timely completion of all order forms
  • Clean equipment properly according to correct procedures
  • Keep workstation and store room clean and organized
  • Respond to emergencies and notify applicable parties as needed, including emergency services
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • High school graduate or equivalent and one (1) year of cooking experience in a large-scale restaurant or healthcare setting, preferred
    • Food Certification is highly desirable
  • Must obtain/maintain certification as a ServSafe Manager
  • Must obtain/maintain certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Endure short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of standing
  • Ability to lift and/or carry equipment, supplies, etc. up to 60 lbs.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment as required by the exposure control plan and safety program
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole/French, highly recommended to meet the language demands of most clients. preferred
  • Must provide proof of Immunization for: Varicella (2 doses), MMR (2 doses), Influenza (1 dose yearly), and Tdap (1 dose)
